It can be done but to a very limited extent. The easier way would be to draw up the financial statements in Excell and then copy the content into a MS Word file.

Werner, thanks for your reply. By any chance, do you have something of the sort that you can email me. Or can you spare time and design one for me please. My knowledge is very limited.
Your help will be much appreciated.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks again.

Hi fellas, another way you could do this, especially if you are reporting on a regular basis - Is to set up your financial statements in Excel (and format as desired) and then copy and paste special into a Word document. In the paste special dialog box select 'paste link' and 'microsoft office excel object'. This creates a picture link to your financial statements. You simply update the spreadsheet reports and this will feed into your word document.

Hi Jimi,
would like to just add that excel spreadsheet is the best tool to work with when dealing with formulas (numbers). Word has very limited functionality with formulas, however it's possible. One method is to simply build your financial statement by inserting an excel table and formating developing it, there on.

To do this, you need to open a new word document, in the menu bar, there's an excel icon. Select the icon and choose the number of rows/columns you want. This should automatically insert excel table in word doc for you. From there simply built your financial statement. But its still limited with its ability to interact with others in the same document.

Cheers.

this is usually the case where one wants to enjoying the formatting of MS word. In this case, prepare the basic structure of your accounts in excel and copy the figures and paste them in MS Word using Paste Special (Copy as a link). Now this MS Word file is linked with MS Excel where you can put formulas and whenever u update the excel file, the word is automatically updated

It is possible, but my problem is why would you want to do that? If you are not using accounting software then I would suggest that you use MS excel as a substitute now that it comes as a package with the MS word. Using MS word for numerical purposes is time consuming and its almost like reprogramming the software.

dear
as u know the wording in both excel and word take the same time
but the formationg in the word will take so many long time then excel
the other important is that in excel the formulas are easily available , while in case of word some one have search various formula. therefore it is wothmentioning that excel to be adopted during friaming your financial statements to avoid frustration.
