IMHO, the broadest criteria for great spreadsheets are
a) they meet one or more specific needs well,
b) they are reliable,
c) they are easy to use, and
d) they are economical in terms of size and complexity.

Simplicity is the ultimate Sophistication, so i concur that model builders should try not to complicate a model, that it becomes a "ghost-model" to intended users
Keeping it simple and easy to understand. I've seen very complicated models with 30 plus sheets but that's just overkill!
